How To Apply OBS Video Filters

Transcription/प्रतिलिपि
Open Broadcaster Software or OBS is a popular opensource recording software. It has many filters which can be applied at recording time to enhance video quality. OBS has two types of filters Video and Audio. In this video we will discuss about video filters available in OBS.

Any filter can be applied on either whole scene or individually on each source separately. Right click on the scene or source on which desired filter is to be applied. Select Filters from menu. A new window will open. Click on plus sign in the window to add new filter or Select the already applied filter to change its properties.

The Image Mask/Blend filter gives us the option to use the Color or Alpha Channel of an Image as a Mask or to Blend an Image (multiply, addition, subtraction) over your Scene or Source. This can be used to give your webcam a round border for example. Add or select Image Mask/Blend filter

Crop Filter lets you cut off the top/left/right/bottom of your source/scene to only show the parts you want. Add or select crop filter. Increase or Decrease the Left, top, right, bottom settings to adjust screen cropping.

Color Correction Filter can change the contrast, brightness and gamma of your source and even provide a color overlay. Add or select color correction filter. Adjust gamma, contrast, brightness, saturation, hue shift, opacity according to your need.

The scroll filter gives us the ability to give our text for example a scrolling effect, left-to-right and top-to-bottom. Negative and positive values will change the direction in which your source will scroll and you can limit the height and width if necessary. Add or select scroll filter. Adjust horizontal and vertical speed. Limit width and height if necessary.

Both the Color Key and Chroma Key filter can be used to remove a certain color of your source and make it transparent. This can be used for green screens and similar stuff. They behave slightly differently, so you will need to experiment and see which works best for your personal use case. Add or select color and chroma key filter. Set color, similarity, smoothness, opacity, contrast, brightness, gamma according to your need.

LUT filter allows you to apply a LUT to your video sources. Add or select LUT filter. Browse for correct LUT. Add or select LUT. apply the correct amount

verall sharpness if you feel your webcam input for example is a bit blurred and you want to improve the o a bit, add the filter and test with different values.  Add or select sharpen. Adjust the sharpness according to your requirement.

New Filters may get added in the future releases of OBS.
