Andaman - an unseen paradise! (Journey Continues...)

Ross Island: has a rich past, which is now a ruins of its
pre-independence era. One can really experience the breeze of winds coming from
ocean with wildlife and swaying trees. Reaching Ross Island was through ferry where
I was welcomed with its approachable flocks of deer and lush green walking
trails, this island is a peaceful destination.
Next destination,
Havelock Island: This island is named after Mr. Henry Havelock, a British General who was based in India. Havelock Island is one destination famous for its pristine beaches, coral reefs, and a relaxing holiday. I came to know that Havelock Island was once home to the indigenous tribes who spoke Aka-Bale language. The tribal population of Havelock Island declined greatly during the era of colonization of Andaman and Nicobar by the British. The original natives of Havelock Island are now extinct and the island is now occupied mostly by Bengali and Myanmar immigrants.
The day starts early here, after breakfast at the hotel, I proceed
to visit Elephant Beach, followed
by a session of snorkeling.
Snorkeling was a pleasant experience.
Being a non-swimmer I was not sure if I should be doing this, but surprisingly
it was quite fun. Snorkeling is the practice of swimming on or
through a body of water while equipped with a diving mask, (a shaped tube
called a snorkel) to observe underwater attractions for extended periods of
time with relatively little effort.
Next, I signed for
underwater sea-walking.
This first time I come to know of such activity. In underwater sea-walking, I wore helmet with air supply through tube attached with it. Now, the helmet weighs 30-35 Kgs to counter buoyancy force of salty water of sea. The primary appeal is the opportunity to observe underwater life in a natural setting without the complicated equipment and training required for scuba diving. It was quite different experience and like a dream world, where you are in the natural habitat of underwater sea life. In fact, I got the chance to feed them as well.
For those who have missed the beginning of my little trip to Andaman, can be read here. Leaving Port Blair was mixed sentiments. I felt sad to leave such a lovely place but as much excited to discover, what Andaman has in store for me further. After an energetic breakfast, I checked out from the hotel to explore Ross Island, (Wednesday Closed).

After enjoying beaches of Havelock Island, I returned back to my

After quite a travel and local shopping, I return back to the
hotel in the afternoon for lunch. The trip is more thrilling and enjoyable than
I expected it to be… To be continued.
