Today all Indians are proud of our nation. The land of snake charmers, the
land of deprived & backward people, has accomplished, which to date no other
country have done, and its credit goes to, India's most successful agency
Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
February 15, 2017, the Space Centre at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh has
launched 104 satellites on a single rocket into space and have set a new
record. Not only launched, but deployed them into their orbit with utmost
precision. This deployment is done only in meagre 6 seconds per satellite approximately.
India become the first country to do so successfully in the single mission to
carry so many satellites. Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C37) for the
country's space program has been designated as an incredible step.
It was a promising beginning at 9:28 am when ISRO ‘s indigenous rocket,
with a growl launched and break free from the Earth's gravitational pull and reached
a stable orbit. The countdown had started 28 hours ago.
Let us educate ourselves with some of the feat and facts about this
launch, which made it historic -
1. Out of 104
satellites, 101 were foreign satellite. India's has only 3 Satellite Launched.
2. ISRO's Polar
Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) used for launch.
3. The main
satellite wait was 714 kg and 103 Nano satellite, all have a total weight of
664 kilograms.
4. Foreign satellites
are mainly small satellite of countries Israel, Kazakhstan, Netherlands,
Switzerland, United Arab Emirates and the USA. 96 of these satellites are of
USA.
5. With this historic
launch ISRO broke the record of Russia which launched 37 satellites in a single
launch in 2014.
6. India had set a
national record last June by launching 20 satellites successfully of which 13,
was of USA.
7. Indian Prime
Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, said for the launch in 2014, we have launched 4
overseas satellites in Earth orbit successfully which the cost less than a
successful Hollywood film “Gravity”
8. Such foreign
satellites in trajectory is a very worthy approach for India to earn money and reputation.
9. ISRO had sent
unmanned rocket to Mars, which cost around $73 million. NASA's Mars Orbiter
Mission, which was of 671 million dollars.
10. Around the year
2022, ISRO is planning to send the second Mars Orbiter Mission and preparing to
send a robot. Additionally, it is preparing to send a mission to Venus and
Jupiter.
11. The Indian government is so happy from this
achievement that it raised ISRO budget by 23 percent.
12. This launch deployed,
104 satellites which took about 18 minutes. A total of 27,000 kilometers per
hour speed was achieved by rocket, which is 40 times the speed of an air plane.
13. The rocket used
to launch PSLV, weighs 320 tons in total. The total height of the rocket was
44.44 meters.
14. The major
satellite weighs 714kg which will be used majorly for mapping of the Earth.
15. Cluster of Nano
Satellites called as ‘Doves’ are 90 in numbers are of single San Francisco
based company called Planet Inc.
16. ISRO two small
satellite's total weight 1.378 kg will be installed 520 kilometers from earth.
17. Indian Prime
Minister Mr. Narendra Modi congratulated the scientists and said that it is a
very unprecedented achievement and that India is very proud.

in June through a single rocket, ISRO launched 23 satellites.
